Statistics show that average salaries in the Fairfield-Vallejo area are 33% lower than in the general San Francisco-Oakland area. We are 12% lower than the general Sacramento-Roseville area and the gap is widening. Following are a few of my proposals to turn this around:

  1. Give Fairfield a more inviting business image by marketing its positive aspects at trade fairs and through advertising.
  2. Offer low-interest loans to local business startups, to be funded by seeking grants from outside sources.
  3. Level the playing field on taxes so that high-tech and other "clean" businesses do not pay more than industrial companies.
